Sometimes simple obedience does not answer the needs of a particular pet / owner dysfunction. A
dog who knows to sit and heel well, may still bark for hours when left alone, or have a phobia of bicyclists or skateboarders,
that drives him or her to bite. These issues need special attention, and the kind of redirection that obedience alone
doesn't quite address. These issues require an assertion of leadership, sharper perception, and good, timely decision
making by the pet owner.
